Juventus have been urged to snap up Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer this summer when his contract at the Camp Nou comes to an end.
Former striker David Trezeguet feels that Lewandowski on a free would be a good move by the Turin giants even though the striker is heading into the twilight of his career.
“I’m not going to go into whether Juve should renew Vlahovic or not, I’m focused on River Plate. I would sign Lewandowski for free, even at 37 years old: he is from another category,
one of the last nine real players along with Haaland,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Lewandowski may not have the physique he used to, but despite not playing regularly, he scored 14 goals at Barcelona: he is strong and intelligent. Lewandowski would arrive at Juve knowing where he comes from and what is expected of him: goals. If the opportunity arose, I would take him to Turin myself.”
Lewandowski’s future remains unclear as his contract at Barca winds down. Joan Laporta has said he wants the veteran to stay, but Lewandowski isn’t expected to make a decision on his next move until the end of the season.
