The Las Vegas Raiders got their star tight end back last Sunday vs. the New Orleans Saints. Klint Kubiak found his football robot from heaven in multiple ways, helping lead to a victory.
Bowers finished the game with 10 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Bowers was all over the field, in slot 39% of the snaps, out wide 39%, and inline 17%. While fans were wondering who the wide receiver was on the field, it was clear after Week 3 that it was Brock Bowers.
That was also on full display in the personnel
usage. The Raiders had two tight ends on the field for 83% of the snaps. That means Michael Mayer was the traditional tight end while Bowers was out wide in the slot.
With this Mayer-Bowers tandem, it shouldn’t surprise that Kubiak wants both on the field. Mayer had three catches for 32 yards, including a touchdown. With the contract extension for Mayer before the start of the season this will be the plan for the forseable future from the Silver and Black.
