Indiana football is set to take on Minnesota on Saturday for the annual homecoming game at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
There’s a lot to consider with this matchup, more than usual. Indiana is coming off of three tight fourth quarter games and quarterback Josh Hoover played through injury for one and just under a half of them. Minnesota got blown out at Purdue then turned around and beat a ranked Iowa team in a heated rivalry matchup.

What will the margin of victory be?
Minnesota, like Indiana as of late, has played all of its opponents pretty closely. The Golden Gophers are staying in games largely thanks to strong special teams play.
The Hoosiers got used to blowing out lower-ranked Big Ten foes under Curt Cignetti in 2024 and 2025. The only conference foe Indiana has thoroughly outclassed this year was Rutgers, which it beat 47-15 on the road earlier this month.
If Indiana wins, how much will it win by? What about Minnesota?
Will Josh Hoover show improvement?
Indiana’s starting quarterback has gotten plenty of heat, from Hoosier fans and the media alike, for some lackluster performances in recent weeks.
That’s not all his fault, really. He suffered an injury against Ohio State and was limited for the remainder of that game and the duration of the following matchup against Michigan. Also, Indiana’s running game has shown some serious issues lately that haven’t helped out the passing offense.
Will Hoover show improvement from some rough games against the Buckeyes and Wolverines on Saturday?
