For the first time in several decades, Indiana is Rose Bowl-bound. For the first time ever, Indiana sits atop all the major polls as the No. 1 team in the country.
The Hoosiers beat Ohio State 13-10 in the Big Ten Football Championship game, claiming the conference title, the No.
1-seed in the College Football Playoff and the aforementioned spot in the Rose Bowl, where they’ll face the winner of a game between No. 8-seed Oklahoma and No. 9-seed Alabama.
It’s not all great news for Indiana. Edge rusher Stephen Daley, who showed out down the stretch along the Hoosiers’ dominating defensive line to help capture that conference title, was injured in the ensuing celebrations and figures to be out for the remainder of the season.
Indiana has absorbed a loss before, with edge rusher Kellan Wyatt going down against Michigan State. Bryant Haines has proved one of the most shrewd defensive coordinators in the country, it’s worth trusting him to make the appropriate adjustments to keep the Hoosier defense humming.
