Anthony Cacace became a two-time super featherweight world champion today, beating Jazza Dickens by unanimous decision in Dublin to take the WBA belt.
Cacace (25-1, 9 KO) didn’t thrill in the victory, and in fact the once-rowdy Dublin crowd became fairly muted over the course of the 12-round bout, which never picked up much steam save for a solid bit of attack from Belfast’s Cacace in round five.
Dickens (36-6, 15 KO) never had a round quite that good, but most of the rounds were close, which left
it at least a little bit open to interpretation before the scores were read. Dickens, who was defending the WBA title, had come forward more throughout the night, and neither man landed at much of a clip, either in volume or accuracy.
But the judges all saw it Cacace’s way, with competitive scores. It’s currently expected that Cacace will face Ryan Garner (19-0, 10 KO), who won a stay-busy bout on the undercard and has claimed European, British, and Commonwealth glory thus far in his career.

Judges saw the fight 115-113, 116-113, and 116-112 for Cacace.
The victory makes 10 straight for Cacace, 37, following a loss to Martin J. Ward way back in 2017, and Dickens’ loss snapped a four-fight win streak.
