Indiana football’s 31-7 win over Wisconsin on Saturday was a pretty substantial recruiting opportunity. With it being the last home game, it was perhaps the Hoosiers’ final shot at getting prospects into
a packed Memorial Stadium for gameday.
Indiana made sure to take advantage of this in hosting Messiah Mickens, a 4-star running back out of Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and current Penn State commit, for an official visit, according to On3.
Mickens is rated as the 16th highest-ranked running back and 221st highest-rated prospect in the class of 2026, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’d become Indiana’s second highest-rated commitment in 2026 if he were to flip and join the Hoosiers, just behind 4-star defensive lineman Gabe Hill (ranked 212th nationally).
He fits the mold Indiana generally looks for in the sense that he’s maybe a hair under 6’ tall and uses that size and strong frame to pick up extra yardage with his strength. He’d be a great pickup if Indiana can pull it off.
