Despite a couple disappointing results, Chelsea still have a chance of finishing in the top eight of the Champions League “league-phase” table, which would earn us a bye, and take us straight into the Round of 16. We’re already assured of a playoff spot after last week’s win over Pafos, but we can skip two matches by beating Napoli on Wednesday.
That’s easier said than done of course, though the defending Serie A champions are in a bit of a slump at the moment, having lost three in a row in all competitions,
and with manager Antonio Conte likening their situation to a sinking ship. Conte, as we know, has a slight penchant for the dramatic (just a touch), but it things are far from ideal for them at the moment.
Things aren’t necessary ideal for us either of course, but Cole Palmer has traveled with the squad and looks set to be available. He’s played just once in our last five games.
All others who have been out, remain out, including Roméo Lavia, who’s back in at least partial training, but seemingly still quite far from any sort of match action.
