Better to be safe than sorry …
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight title challenger Khalil Rountree suffered a brutal knockout loss to Jiri Prochazka in the “Featured” bout of the UFC 320 pay-per-view (PPV) main card inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch highlights).
Immediately after the loss, company officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that Rountree was transported to the local hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following his knockout loss.

Rountree (14-7-1) entered the bout determined to earn another crack at the 205-pound crown after his shutdown win over Jamahal Hill at UFC Baku earlier this year. Unfortunately, that momentum came to a sudden halt. Despite his No. 4 ranking, the 35-year-old will now have to restart his climb up the Light Heavyweight ladder.
Rountree is now 1-2 in his last three after rattling off five consecutive wins, which included four knockouts over names like Anthony Smith and Chris Daukaus. He’s now 1-2 in his last three outings.
Meanwhile, Prochazka (32-5-1) is now riding a two-fight win streak since getting finished by then champion Alex Pereira.

Brazilian Middleweight Andre Muniz was also transported to the local hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following his TKO loss to Edmen Shahbazyan on the UFC 320 “Prelims” (watch highlights).
Muniz (24-8) is now on a two-fight losing streak four of his last five, all by stoppage.
