German national team forward and VfB Stuttgart star Deniz Undav was in the midst of a monster effort as he had tallied two goals and an assist during his squad’s match vs. Finland.
The World Cup tune-up gave Undav a chance to stake his claim to a starting role for the team — and he was in the midst of taking full advantage of that opportunity before an injury felled him.
Just minutes after scoring his second goal (on an assist from Bayern Munich star Lennart Karl), Undav went down and had to leave
the match with an injury in the 61st minute.
Undav appear to be felled by a thigh or hamstring issue, but it was unclear at the time of this post what the official ailment was. Borussia Dortmund attacker Maximilian Beier took over for Undav.
German was still cruising, but the thoughts of many fans were with Undav, who was fantastic in the match.
