Gabriel Bonfim may have punched his ticket to a top 10 matchup after crushing welterweight veteran Randy Brown with a massive knee knockout earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 8, 2025) at UFC Vegas 111 LIVE on ESPN+
from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bonfim, along with Brown, was headlining his first-ever UFC event. The former Contender Series standout came into Saturday with a 5-1 UFC record and coming off a decision win over veteran contender Stephen Thompson. With that type of momentum, Bonfim needed to perform in a marquee matchup and prove he’s ready for a real run at 170 pounds.
The first round was a solid back-and-forth on the feet, but Bonfim piled up 19 leg kicks that started to pay dividends entering the second frame. Brown kept plodding forward, though, as “Rude Boy” tried to land something to earn a little respect. That moment never came.
Instead, Bonfim was able to time a perfectly-placed knee inside as Brown was closing distance. Both welterweights fell to the canvas, but it was Brown who was badly hurt. The referee stepped in to stop the fight before Bonfim had a chance to land any unnecessary damage. “Rude Boy” felt the stoppage was a little early, but the knee was significant enough.
Check out the knockout finish below and let us know who Bonfim should be matched up against next. He did call out Colby Covington after the win.
