It’s been just over a year since Jamal Musiala suffered a horrific injury at the hands (or feet) of then-Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 23-year-old eventually returned to action at the start of this year and had a metal plate in his foot removed after Germany were unceremoniously dumped out of the 2026 World Cup. Here’s what the plan of action is for Musiala (via Kicker):
If everything goes according to plan, Musiala will rejoin training after the team’s return on August
8th; the 23-year-old definitely has his sights set on the start of the competitive season. Bayern will face runners-up Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup on August 22nd, and the league opener against Stuttgart is scheduled for a week later.
Most Bayern fans still await the day that Musiala is back to his very best: magical dribbling, passing with pinpoint precision, and a deadly eye for goal. It hasn’t been smooth sailing, but he will be back. Eventually.
