Bayern Munich is currently trying to bolster their youth development program by making some changes in the leadership of its campus. Current campus director Jochen Sauer has been heavily involved with
Red & Gold Football, the joint venture of FC Bayern Munich and Los Angeles FC, which means Bayern is looking for someone to take over the campus responsibilities. According to a report by Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern are close to signing FC Nürnberg head of youth development Michael Wiesinger (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Michael Wiesinger, current head of youth development at Nürnberg, has decided to join FC Bayern. Bayern are planning for Wiesinger to take up his new role as director of the Campus from the summer. The club will likely have to pay a compensation fee, since Wiesinger is under a long-term contract at Nürnberg [@altobelli13].
However, the move is not going to be straightforward. Wiesinger is currently under contract, which means Bayern would have to pay a release clause in order to secure Wiesinger’s signature.
This move is expected to rebolster Bayern’s youth program during a time where few youth players get to make it to the first time.
