A winless run that Juventus hasn’t seen take place at the club since the 2008-09 season has cost Igor Tudor his job.
Juventus announced Monday that they have fired the 49-year-old Tudor, who originally
arrived at the club as the interim manager back in March after Thiago Motta was fired. Tudor was confirmed and had the caretaker label removed in June ahead of the Club World Cup after helping Juve secure Champions League football this season. But with a 2025-26 season that was quickly spiraling into a complete mess after three straight wins to begin the new campaign, Tudor has seen his time come to an end following Sunday night’s loss to a Lazio side that entered the weekend in 12th place in the Serie A table.
At the time of Tudor’s firing, Juventus hadn’t recorded a win in their last eight games, had lost the last three of those and hadn’t scored in their last four games, looking increasingly more out of sorts in attack much of the time.
With Tudor (and his coaching staff) getting sacked, Juventus have promoted Next Gen manager Massimo Brambilla into a short-term caretaker role until a more permanent caretaker manager is hired by general manager Damien Comolli and the rest of the new-look front office.
The official statement from the club regarding Tudor’s firing is as follows:
Juventus Football Club announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the Men’s First Team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci.
The Club also announces that it has temporarily entrusted the Men’s First Team to Massimo Brambilla, who will be on the bench for the Juventus-Udinese match on Wednesday evening.
The Club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.
