Two-time All-EuroLeague point guard Kevin Pangos has announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 33 on Instagram.
Pangos is highly regarded as one of the greatest lead guards to ever come through Europe. He was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team in 2016 with Gran Canaria, the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2018 with
Zalgiris Kaunas, and the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2021 with FC Barcelona.
The 6-1 floor leader played professionally in the countries of Spain, Lithuania, Russia, Italy,
and Istanbul. Pangos also played one season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2021-22.
During his time with the Gonzaga Bulldogs from 2011-15, Pangos was named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team in each of his four seasons. The native of Holland Landing, Ontario, Canada, was also awarded the 2014-15 West Coast Conference Player of the Year honor and listed on the Associated Press’ All-American Third Team in 2015.
Per a source from SB Nation’s AZ Desert Swarm, Pangos is joining the Arizona Wildcats and coach Tommy Lloyd’s staff as assistant coach Ken Nakagawa’s replacement. Nakagawa is moving on to the G League’s Salt Lake Stars, the affiliate of the Utah Jazz, as an assistant coach.
