The Philadelphia 76ers have seen major shakeups in their executive ranks this offseason. Daryl Morey was let go back in May, setting the stage for Mike Gansey to arrive as the new President of Basketball Operations and the promotion of Jameer Nelson into the vice president role. Now, a member of the front office hired under Morey’s regime is heading elsewhere.
Per reporting from Sabreena Merchant of The Athletic, Sixers vice president of player personnel Ariana Andonian is being hired as the new general
manager of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks. That position was being filled on an interim basis for the Sparks since back in July when Raegan Pebley was let go.
Andonian was hired by the Sixers back in September 2024. She had previously served as the vice president of player personnel for the Memphis Grizzlies and had crossed paths with Morey during her time within the Houston Rockets’ scouting department. Andonian later received the additional role of Delaware Blue Coats general manager back in August 2025. The Blue Coats went 18-18 last regular season, and 4-10 in the Showcase Cup.
With Morey’s departure and Gansey now leading a new regime in Philadelphia, it’s an opportune time for Andonian to accept a promotion in Los Angeles. We’ll see if she can help turn around a Sparks franchise that currently sits at 15-25 and hasn’t had a winning season since 2020. In the meantime, we will await word on any corresponding hires for the Sixers within their own front office or down in Delaware.
