No. 1 — Buffalo Bills (2nd) 📈 1 spot
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills demolished the Lions on a short week after defeating the Houston Texans on the road. The Bills have the highest offensive EPA/play and the highest dropback EPA. Allen dropped five touchdowns in the first game at Highmark Stadium, and James Cook III rushed for 135 yards on 21 carries (6.4 YPC). I had them ranked second last week, and that was too low.
No. 2 — Seattle Seahawks (3rd) 📈 1 spot
The Drew Lock-led Seahawks handled their business in the Arizona desert. Lock went 19 of 26 for 235 yards with three
touchdowns, as Mike Macdonald’s defense held Jacoby Brissett to 95 yards passing on 28 attempts, and star rookie Jeremiyah Love to just 29 yards on nine carries. Seattle is a force, and they’re winning with a conservative offense and a stout defense, and a whole lot of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who secured nine catches for 155 yards with three touchdowns on eleven targets.
No. 3 — Los Angeles Rams (4th) 📈 1 spot
The Rams offense dropped 481 total yards on the Giants and looked like the Super Team that everyone was discussing during the preseason. The injury to Jaxson Dart may have assisted the Rams’ offensive explosion, but Los Angeles was without star receiver Puka Nacua, and they did WHATEVER they wanted against the Giants’ defense. The Rams are back in the top-three!
No. 4 — Cincinnati Bengals (5th) 📈1 spot
The Bengals went into a hostile environment and defeated a now 0-2 Texans team that does possess a very talented defense. Speaking of talented defenses, the trade for Dexter Lawrence is paying dividends for Cincinnati. He is PFF’s highest-graded interior defensive lineman, and he had a massive fourth-down STOP in the Bengals 20-6 victory in Houston. Also, Ja’Marr Chase may have already had the catch of the season on his 32-yard touchdown grab; he had a pair of touchdowns with his seven catches for 75 yards.
No. 5 — San Francisco 49ers (8) 📈 3 spots
The 49ers played the Dolphins in Week 2 and cruised to an easy 35-13 home win after defeating the Los Angeles Rams in Australia earlier. Brock Purdy has completed over 80% of his passes for just under 500 yards through two games. The NFC West is STOUT with three teams in the top-five – the 49ers host the Cardinals in Week 3.
No. 6 — Kansas City Chiefs (7th) 📈 1 spot
The Chiefs narrowly escaped the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football with a 33-30 overtime victory. Pat Mahomes threw for 371 yards, and the Chiefs’ offense rushed for more than 150 yards, but the Colts battled Steve Spagnuolo’s defense well. Kansas City earned the win, but the game was hard-fought.
No. 7 — New England Patriots (11th) 📈 4 spots
The Patriots got back on track by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 20-3. The Steelers could not do much offensively and New England gained 387 total offensive yards in Drake Maye’s first win of the 2026 season.
No. 8 — Baltimore Ravens (1st ) 📉 7 spots
The Ravens took a commanding 17-3 lead, but Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, with help from Chris Olave, led a dramatic come-from-behind win, 24-17. Despite averaging 4.9 yards per carry, the Ravens could not defeat the feisty Saints.
No. 9 — Philadelphia Eagles (12th) 📈 3 spots
The Eagles were almost upset by the Tennessee Titans, but a touchdown pass with nine seconds left in the game from Jalen Hurts gave Philadelphia the 24-20 victory. Hurts did throw a bad interception to Amani Hooker that ended a 15-play drive, and Cam Ward and the Titans scored on the next play; to Philadelphia’s credit, they scored two consecutive touchdowns on their next two possessions. Hurts was far from perfect, but the Eagles remain undefeated.
No. 10 — Denver Broncos (14th) 📈 4 spots
Denver defeated the Jaguars, 20-13, and Bo Nix threw for 288 yards in the Broncos’ first victory of the season. Jacksonville shut down the rushing attack, but the Broncos’ defense was able to slow down Liam Coen’s high-powered offense.
No. 11 — Minnesota Vikings (15th) 📈 4 spots
The Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears, 9-3, and now have two divisional wins without Kyler Murray, who is cleared to play in Week 3 against the Buccaneers, who have struggled mightily through their 0-2 start.
No. 12 — Chicago Bears (6th) 📉 6 spots
The Bears lost their quarterback for the game — luckily it’s not as serious as originally expected — and they played through a low-scoring monsoon, against one of the best defensive coorindators in football (Brian Flores). The 9-3 loss is tough, but I expect the Bears offense to bounce back once Caleb is healthy, which seems like it could be as early as a few weeks.
No. 13 — Jacksonville Jaguars (9th) 📉 2 spots
Jacksonville lost 20-13, and their offense was stifled for much of the game. They had just 268 total yards against Denver’s defense, which looked like the Denver defense under Vance Joseph from last season. Despite the loss, the Jaguars still remain in the top-12, but are tested next week as they host the Patriots.
No. 14 — Dallas Cowboys (17th) 📈 3 spots
The Cowboys defeated Washington, 37-20, as Dak Prescott tossed four touchdowns against the revamped Washington defense. CeeDee Lamb went for eight catches and 153 yards with two touchdowns, and George Pickens caught six passes for 40 yards. The Cowboys struggled to run the football, but they earned the victory.
No. 15 — Detroit Lions (13th) 📉 2 spots
The Lions were outclassed by the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, but Josh Allen can do that to a team — especially when he is opening a stadium on Thursday Night Football. The Lions could not do much early against the Bills’ defense, but they scored points in the second half, which made the game look more competitive. The Saints win looks better after their Week 2 upset over Baltimore.
No. 16 — New Orleans Saints (22nd) 📈 6 spots
The Saints pulled off the epic upset against the Baltimore Ravens. Tyler Shough willed his team to victory, and they’re now in the top half of these rankings.
No. 17 — Houston Texans (10th) 📉 7 spots
The Texans offense struggled against Dexter Lawrence and the Bengals’ revamped defense. They only scored six points, with the Bengals escaping Houston with a 20-6 victory. Houston started with two home games against quality opponents, and are now 0-2.
No. 18 — Green Bay Packers (18th) SAME
The Packers escaped MetLife Stadium with a win after some questionable coaching decisions by the New York Jets. It was a defensive struggle, and the Packers were inept on third down; they finished 1-9, but a few big defensive plays allowed them to escape without a catastrophic start to their season.
N0. 19 — Carolina Panthers (27th) 📈 8 spots
The Falcons did not stand a chance against the Panthers, who beat them badly 34-4. Cooper Rush started for the Falcons again and the Panthers’ defense is still turning the football over.
No. 20 — Indianapolis Colts (21st) 📈 1 spot
The Colts lost 33-30 in overtime against the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. The injury to Alec Pierce is very unfortunate for the Colts’ offense, but Indianapolis almost pulled off the upset.
No. 21 — New York Giants (16th) 📉 5 spots
Injuries to Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns dictate where the Giants fall on this list. Still, the 28-6 beatdown against the Rams, where Jameis Winston looked lost and Matt Stafford found plenty of answers, is tough to forget. The Giants were beaten in just about every phase by Sean McVay, but I do think that’s the worst we will see Winston.
No. 22 — Pittsburgh Steelers (20th) 📉 2 spots
The Steelers offense has been bad for two straight weeks
No. 23 — New York Jets (25th) 📈 2 spots
The Jets have moved three spots each week. They were very close to being 2-0, and their defense looks legit. The offense does enough, and they have a pair of talented running backs. They’re more competent, personnel-wise, than they have been in a bit, but is that enough?
No. 24 — Las Vegas Raiders (26th) 📈 2 spots
Kirk Cousins led the Raiders to a 26-14 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, who continue to be the Los Angeles Chargers in the most Los Angeles Chargers type of way.
No. 25 — Los Angeles Chargers (19th) 📉 6 spots
The Chargers offense under Mike McDaniel has been flat-out bad, and the defense is a problem too. The Chargers remain one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL as they continue to slide down the rankings with two home losses as the team favorite.
No. 26 — Washington Commanders (25th) 📉 1 spot
Jayden Daniels dislocated his elbow, and the Commanders now sit at 0-2 on the season. Although the defense has improved, they struggled to guard CeeDee Lamb and to stop Dak Prescott. Washington has a capable backup in Marcus Mariota, but they’re not in a good place right now.
No. 27 — Arizona Cardinals (28th) 📈 1 spot
The Cardinals were destroyed, 31-7, by the Seattle Seahawks, yet somehow ascend in these rankings. I promise you, that’s a product of Seattle and some BAD football by the teams below the Cardinals.
No. 28— Tennessee Titans (30th) 📈 2 spots
The Titans almost pulled off the upset against the Eagles. Jalen Hurts did enough to win, but the Titans showed life after a bad Week 1 loss against the Jets.
No. 29 — Tampa Bay Buccaneers (24th) 📉 5 spots
Yeah, it’s this bad. The Cleveland Browns defeated the Buccaneers after a long rain delay, 23-19. It’s full-on panic mode for the Buccaneers right now.
No. 30 — Atlanta Falcons (29th) 📉 1 spot
The Falcons were demolished by the Panthers, 34-3, and they’re desperately waiting for the return of Michael Penix Jr., Tua Tagovailoa, or anyone not named Cooper Rush. It was an abysmal home loss by Atlanta.
No. 31 — Cleveland Browns (32nd) 📈 2 spots
The Browns pulled off the upset in Tampa Bay, which I believe says much more about Tampa Bay than Cleveland, but the young pieces of the Browns were able to impress, specifically Denzel Boston who caught five balls for 95 yards and a score.
No. 32 — Miami Dolphins (31st) 📉 1 spot
The Dolphins were beaten up by the San Francisco 49ers, 35-13. It is going to be a long season for Malik Willis and the Miami Dolphins.
