Max Holloway is the current “BMF” champion of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for a reason, which is why “Blessed” is willing to take a shot at submitting Charles Oliveira in their main event matchup
atop UFC 326 this March LIVE on Paramount+.
The “BMF” title fight is already one of the most exciting matchups of the year. Holloway and Oliveira are two of the biggest fan favorites and each fighter is coming off a return to the win column. Not to mention the fact that it will be a rematch from their first meeting back in 2015. Holloway stopped “Do Bronx” with a first-round TKO in that fight, but that’s because Oliveira suffered an injury.
Over 10 years later, Holloway is looking to push the envelope in his rematch against Oliveira. As the only “BMF” champion to actually defend his title, “Blessed” feels an obligation to deliver the unexpected (just like his legendary knockout over Justin Gaethje). This time around, Holloway is hoping to turn in a shocking submission win over the greatest submission finisher the UFC has ever seen.
Check it out below:
“My coaches probably gonna kill me when they see this and hear me saying this,” said Holloway in a recent interview leading up to UFC 326. “A BMF thing to do in this fight would be to submit the submission artist.
“At the end of the day never say never. Who’s to say what happens. That’s a pretty BMF moment to submit a submission artist.”
It should be noted that Holloway only has two submission wins on his lengthy MMA record. The last time “Blessed” made an opponent tap, snap, or nap, was back in 2015 when he choked out Cub Swanson on FOX. Oliveira, on the other hand, has the most submission wins in UFC history win 17. “Do Bronx” has been submitted four times in his UFC career, though, but only Islam Makhachev has done it in the past 10 years.
