While there has not been any formal movement between Bayern Munich and Chelsea for Christopher Nkunku, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting that both Bayern and RB Leipzig are still working to get the attacker on loan:
Chelsea are still talking to Bayern and to Leipzig over Christopher Nkunku. Both German clubs are asking for a loan. Chelsea told them: permanent transfer or nothing.
Chelsea wants (needs?) to let Nkunku go, but does not want to risk losing the chance at getting transfer fee
by just loaning him out. Meanwhile, neither Bayern Munich, nor RB Leipzig seems ready or willing to buy Nkunku. For Bayern Munich, Nkunku could be without a starting role after Jamal Musiala returns, which makes the situation very tenuous.
Bayern Munich will kick off its Bundesliga season against RB Leipzig in what should be a fun start to the league season.
The Bavarians are seeking to defend their status as reigning champions, while RB Leipzig is going to look to build a great base of talent into a cohesive team — something that has not always proven to be the easiest task in East Germany.
