Barcelona sporting director Deco is reportedly heading to London this week for talks with Chelsea star Joao Pedro’s agent.
The rumor mill has decided that the Brazil international is now Barcelona’s top transfer target ahead of the summer window after PSG entered the race to land Julian Alvarez.
A new ’exclusive’ on the situation from Diario Sport states that Deco wants to meet with the Brazilian’s entourage and could also watch Pedro in action during Saturday’s FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester
City.
Pedro is seen as a player who “fits perfectly” with what Barca want this summer. He’s still only 24, has great technical ability, is a good goalscorer and still has room to improve.
Barca seem him as a cheaper option to Alvarez but the price may still be a real problem for the Catalan giants thsi summer.
Chelsea spent around £60 million last summer to bring in Pedro from Brighton and will surely want at least that amount for a player who has already scored 20 goals this season for the Blues.
As for Barca, the club still haven’t reached the 1:1 rule and need to make sales and free up space on the wage bill before they can go for any big names this summer.
