Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Notre Dame fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Over the last week or so, NIL and other such things in college sports, has been a major conversation around the country. It’s not just sportswriters and fans — the United States government is lining up to make an opinion. Not only that, a threat of Executive Order by President
Donald Trump was also given.
So let’s talk about it.
Did you enjoy the 2025-2026 Notre Dame men’s basketball season? Yeah, I didn’t think so. It’s easy (and likely accurate) to put the bulk of the blame for the “season from hell” on Micah Shrewsberry. Our eyes can’t unsee some of the nonsense from this past season. However… is Notre Dame investing enough in the men’s basketball program? Tom Noie tweeted out several weeks ago that TWO players with the Louisville Cardinals are making more than the entire Notre Dame basketball team.
In my opinion, there is more that CAN be invested in the program — and should be. The basketball program should NOT be in this poor of shape.
On top of that question this week, President Trump talked about how he wants things to go back to how it was before NIL. Regardless of the feasibility of this “want” it’s likely never going to happen. Still, it seems to be an opinion shared by a number of fans — how do you feel about it?
