Premier League Champions Arsenal are keen on a move for Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior– according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
Ornstein reported on Saturday that the Brazil international, 26, sits high on a list of forwards the Premier League champions are weighing as they look to strengthen their attack. Nothing is advanced. There have been no talks between the clubs and the interest may go no further, but the idea has backing across every level of the Arsenal hierarchy.
Vinícius Júnior has 12 months left on his contract after eight seasons in Madrid, and negotiations over an extension have not produced a breakthrough. Real Madrid have no intention of losing him for nothing, particularly with a substantial loyalty payment due next season.
Real Madrid have been engaged in contract negotiations with Vinicius Jr.’s camp for a long time, with no resolution in sight as of now. With concrete interest in Yan Diomande, it is going to be increasingly interesting to observe what happens with the two-time Champions League winner this summer.
