The Miami Dolphins enter the 2026 season with perhaps more questions than answers, and ProFootballTalk’s Week One power rankings reflect just how difficult it is to get a read on how the team will play in new head coach Jeff Hafley’s first game as the head-man-in-charge.
After a whirlwind offseason, very little about the Dolphins resembles the team that took the field a year ago. Miami made significant changes throughout the roster, creating an identity that remains largely unknown heading into Week
One.
That uncertainty is understandable. When a team undergoes this much change, expectations become difficult to establish. There are reasons for optimism, but there are also plenty of legitimate questions that won’t be answered until the Dolphins start playing meaningful football.
According to PFT, the Dolphins aren’t the worst team in the NFL — but they’re not far from it.
Mike Florio’s outlet has the Dolphins as the fifth worst team in the National Fooball League prior to any games being played — with only the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets as worse franchises currently.
In Week One, those rankings will be put to the test as the Dolphins travel to Las Vegas to take on the Kirk Cousins led Raiders. We’ll see if Malik Willis, De’Von Achane and company can come away with a win and climb PFT’s power rankings heading into Week Two.
