It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the holidays approach. If your calendar is anything like mine the time from Thanksgiving through New Years is filled with opportunities to catch up with loved ones, holiday parties with old friends, and more. This Saturday, Dec. 20, the Bleacher Bunch podcast including some of your favorite bleacher bums, writers and podcasters will be Cubsmas caroling in and around Wrigleyville and you are invited!
This is one of the most festive and fun events for Cubs
fans outside of the baseball season. As a bonafide introvert I can attest it’s well worth leaving the comfort and warmth of your home to brave whatever weather the universe has thrown at Chicago to join your friends caroling around the best baseball neighborhood in the country.
There are a couple of different ways you can participate, and while we hope you’ll be able to join the caroling crew in person, you can even participate from afar. If you have a conflict on the 20th you can still submit your carols to be sung by the crew. The process is easy, for example, you can get a sample of my submitted carol below:
Cubs ain’t getting Tucker for Christmas
Jed & Carter said “nah”
Cubs ain’t getting Tucker for Christmas
Fans in the bleachers are sad
Packed Wrigley for October Games
Ricketts still won’t spend
Even showed up ‘gainst the Marlins
Ricketts still won’t spend
We bought the beer bats for high fees
Sit in seats with cramped knees
Tickets make bank accounts bleed
Ricketts still won’t spend, OH
Cubs ain’t getting Tucker for Christmas
Jed & Carter just shrugged
Cubs ain’t getting Tucker for Christmas
Hope pre-arb players can shove
Submitting a carol is easy, you just record a video of yourself singing your parody and upload it to this Google Drive with your name and the name of your Cubsmas Carol. Submit your Cubsmas carol by Thursday, Dec. 18. RSVP via Partiful, and join the Bleacher Bunch caroling in Wrigleyville on Dec. 20 at 4 p.m.
