According to a report from Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could be balking at a move for Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku because of the price:
Bayern’s move for Christopher Nkunku has stalled, delaying Chelsea’s attempts to sign Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho. Chelsea hope to offload Nkunku, who is not in the club’s plans for the season, and want the forward to leave on a permanent basis. Bayern had a loan offer with an option to buy rejected at the weekend
and it remains to be seen if they are prepared to pay enough to sign the Frenchman.
This appears to be standard operating procedure for Bayern Munich as the club is — inevitably — seeking to get the rumored €50 million cost for Nkunku pushed down. Newcastle United and Inter Milan could also be in the mix for Nkunku now as well and could be more willing to get to Chelsea’s number.
Bayern Munich kicked off its season with a win over VfB Stuttgart in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, which gave fans some insight on where things stand ahead of the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League.
