Ronda Rousey is actually back.
On May 16, Rousey will compete in MMA for the first time in nearly a decade when she takes on Gina Carano in a five-round fight for Most Valuable Promotions, broadcast live on Nextflix. The bout is also Carano’s return to competition, as the former Strikeforce star has not competed since 2009, and on Tuesday, the two MMA pioneers faced off for the first time in front of fans during MVP’s first pre-fight press conference.
Serving as the co-main event for the card, former
UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, fresh off his release from PFL, will fight former PFL tournament winner Philipe Lins. Ngannou has not fought since stopping Renan Ferreira at a PFL event in October 2024, but still towered over Lins when the two faced off for the first time.
Rousey vs. Carano goes down on May 16 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA.
