Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about the latest on Ahmad Hardy
A very scary situation for Ahmad Hardy. Mizzou’s All-American running back suffered a gunshot wound at a concert in Mississippi early Sunday morning.
In what may be the best news possible at this point, Hardy was said to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery. Here’s the statement from Mizzou Football:
Obviously, football isn’t the most important factor at this moment
but his timetable to return is unknown.
Pete Thamel of ESPN later reported that Hardy was alert and moving around, which is another promising sign.
Get back to full health as soon as possible, Ahmad. Prayers up from us at Rock M.

And while it’s not exactly a surprise to hear that teams are excited about high round picks, both Young and Trotter seem to be settling in well, impressing and giving hope to their new teams.
Good luck to Zion Young in Baltimore, and Josiah Trotter in Tampa Bay!
Jack Brown has all the makings of becoming a future tight end star for the Mizzou Football program.
As of right now, Brown is the top ranked player in Mizzou’s 2027 recruiting class. He looks to be a big time get.
Jackson, Mississippi, station WJTV reported this afternoon that Hardy sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg early on Sunday morning.
The latest report on Hardy indicates he was shot in the upper leg area.
For our second to last column, it’s all about Mizzou baseball’s series against Vanderbilt! Dan covered the first game that spanned two days due to insane fog, I covered the second game which started later and featured a weather delay, and Margo wrapped things up with the third game, which was also senior day. Keep reading to see what we came back with!
Some great photos to enjoy from Mizzou Baseball’s wild series win over Vanderbilt.
At the time, Ward led the Tigers with a .500 batting average in SEC play. Since then, he’s kept up his momentum, becoming a staple of this Tigers lineup, still leading the team in average at .353 in SEC play. Elevating since Missouri came into the conference slate, Ward has become a consistent presence in the lineup after not making an appearance from Feb. 28 to Mar 10.
Here’s hoping Mizzou can keep Blaize Ward on the roster in the future after a stellar freshman season.
