What is the story about?
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — The New York Giants will hold their final public practice of training camp at The Greenbrier Sports Performance Center on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, the Giants will practice from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET, then travel back to East Rutherford, N.J.
Players have an off day on Sunday, then will return to practice at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center on Monday. There are no public practices scheduled in New Jersey.
The Giants will play their first preseason game a week
from Saturday, August 15, at MetLife Stadium against the Minnesota Vikings. That game is at 1 p.m.
A few things to watch on Friday:
- The Giants will be back in full pads after a walk-through on Thursday.
- How much will Malik Nabers, Brian Burns, and Malachi Fields do? All three participated in Thursday’s walk-through. It wasn’t a big deal that Nabers participated in team periods during the walk-through. Whenever he does more than individual drills and routes on air in a “live” practice will be a big deal.
- Will the Giants go “good on good” or mix and match first-, second-, and third-teams against each other?
- Which offensive lineman will be given the “rookie duty” of taking a pre-practice lap and trying to fire up fans lining the field? I don’t think undrafted free Ryan Schernecke has been tapped for that job yet.
- Will the rain hold off? The practice week started with a torrential downpour during Monday’s workout. If the forecast is right, Friday might feature another one.
Remaining Greenbrier practice schedule
- Saturday, August 8 — 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
