BOSTON — The Celtics will start Jayson Tatum, Paul George, Jordan Walsh, Derrick White, and Mitchell Robinson in the preseason home opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team is fully healthy, with everyone available except for Exhibit-10 player Devin Carter.
That means that Neemias Queta, who was a regular starter last year, will come off the bench, as will Payton Pritchard, who was a starter for the first half of the season. Baylor Scheierman, Hugo Gonzalez, and Sam Hauser are also expected
to contribute wing minutes off the bench.
The 76ers will be without several key players, including Jaylen Brown
For the 76ers, LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Kentavius Caldwell-Pope, Adem Bona, and Anfernee Simons are all out. Brown completed a lengthy on-court warm-up, but was ruled out before the game.
The 76ers are 1-1 in the preseason so far, with one win over the New York Knicks and one loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Celtics are 1-0 in preseason action so far, but were without 8 rotation players in the opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, Paul George, Mitchell Robinson, Neemias Queta, Sam Hauser, Ron Harper Jr., and Payton Pritchard all missed the opener.
