You can answer this question however you want as far as what your biggest takeaway from the NFL Draft was? This can be for any and all football fans!
For Los Angeles Rams fans specifically, forget the Ty Simpson pick (or talk about it more!), what else did you take away from the NFL Draft? What did you learn about the Rams?
I think it’s hard to say if anything was learned in the meta, though maybe that the Rams really will zig when other teams zag. For example, in this draft the quarterback class was considered
“light” (I don’t know if I agree, but many “experts” expressed that 2026 was lighter than 2025 and what’s expected to be a good class in 2027), and what did the Rams do with this “light” class? They took a quarterback.
Also, the Rams didn’t trade back, they traded up for a wide receiver, so they really identified who they wanted to add for this coming year, and they got their guys.
Whether or not the class works out, the Rams seem to have a process year in and year out and it’s fun to watch. Until I am proven wrong, I am trusting Sean McVay and Les Snead. We’ll see.

Mystery as to why Rams didn’t trade back from 13 solved, and somebody is Lion (ramblinfan)
“If you need to point the finger and blame somebody, you can start with the Detroit Lions, a team that was willing to trade up to 13 from the 17th overall pick. If you want to dig deeper, you can blame the Miami Dolphins for derailing the Lions’ plans to trade up by selecting Kadyn Proctor.
Contingency draft day trades are negotiated between NFL teams all the time. And the reason they seldom pan out is that one team will only trade up if their target is on the board, while the trade-back team will only do so if no targeted rookie is on the board. Few intersection points qualify
Mystery solved. As always, thanks for reading.“
Demand for rare Ty Simpson rookie card explodes after Rams controversial QB pick (aol.com)
“Rams fans might not be thrilled with the team’s choice to draft Ty Simpson, but sports collectors are eating it up.
Topps officials told The California Post this week that Simpson’s draft-night Topps NOW card was officially the third-most sought after when it came to players taken by NFL teams last week.
The only two higher, according to Topps, were the cards belonging to No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza and No. 3 overall selection Jeremiyah Love.“
Battista on Rams drafting Ty Simpson: This is a succession plan (nfl.com)
“NFL Network’s Judy Battista says the drafting Ty Simpson is Los Angeles Rams succession plan.”
Random Ramsdom Fandom:
What I noticed was how well he used his feet in the pocket. As he progressed through his reads would always adjust his feet to stay on balance aligned towards the new target. Sometimes taller players with rocket arms can get lazy with their footwork and end up with errant throws caused by bad mechanics. I think he got some good training at a young age on how to use his feet. Being a coaches son can have its advantages. -airball
