One of Arizona men’s basketball’s top recruiting targets in the 2027 class is set to announce his decision on Tuesday.
Darius Wabbington, a five-star center, will choose between Arizona, Illinois and Indiana at 3 p.m. MST tomorrow, according to Sam Kaysar of League Ready. The 6-foot-11 big man plays for Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix.
Wabbington is considered a top-15 recruit in the 2027 class, per 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 2 center and the No. 3 prospect from Arizona.
Wabbington is coming off an official visit to Arizona during Red-Blue weekend last month. He previously took official visits to the other two finalists.
“Wabbington is the most skilled big man in the national class,” 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein writes. “He has naturally soft hands and touch, is an excellent ball-handler and passer (especially good lob thrower), and developing floor-spacing shooter. He’s a wide-body who has gradually improved his conditioning, but could still better sculpt his frame.”
Wabbington would help replace the departure of Arizona center Motiejus Krivas, whose eligibility is up at the end of the 2026-27 season.
Arizona is still seeking its first commitment in the 2027 class.
