In this week’s Saints reacts poll, we asked readers who they think will be the team’s kicker in Week 1?
74% of voters said newly acquired kicker Daniel Carlson will be the kicker on the 53-man roster when the Saints open the season against the Lions in Detroit. The former Las Vegas Raider comes to New Orleans with an impressive resume. The two-time All-Pro has one of the biggest legs in the league and has made 60 of 61 field goals from under 40 yards over the last four years—a 98.3% conversion rate.
If he makes the cut, the 31-year-old could bring some much-needed stability to a position where Blake Grupe, Charlie Smyth and Tanner Brown have struggled to provide consistency in recent years.
