Barcelona have reportedly held talks with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund over a summer transfer for full-back Hector Fort.
The youngster has returned to the club this summer after a season out on loan at Elche but looks set to leave again as there appears to be no place in the squad for him under Hansi Flick in 2026-27.
Reporter Florian Plettenberg says that Dortmund are “exploring a deal” for the 20-year-old and have been in negotiations with Barca.
Flick has taken a check on Fort during pre-season but seems to have decided he’s surplus to requirements. The defender is one of a handful of players that Barca are hoping to offload before the window closes.
A number Premier League clubs are also thought to be interested in signing Fort, with the club hoping to earn at least €20 million from any summer transfer.
Fort has been at Barcelona since the 2013/14 season and made his debut in 2023 but hasn’t been able to cement himself a place in the first team and could wave a permanent farewell to the club in the coming weeks.
