Women’s Hockey (10-0)
The women’s hockey team has stayed unbeaten with a sweep over Lindenwood. In Game 1, Tessa Janecke and Nicole Hall each scored two goals to pace the offense to a 6-1 win. The defense allowed just 12 shots
on goal in the game. In Game 2, Maddy Campbell recorded her second shutout of the season and Katelyn Roberts scored twice in a 5-0 win. Penn State has allowed fewer than 20 shots in nine of its first 10 games.
Penn State will face Robert Morris on the road tomorrow (3pm) and Saturday (5pm).
Women’s Volleyball (13-7)
The women’s volleyball team ran its winning streak to three with wins over Rutgers and Ohio State. Jordan Hopp had six blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Rutgers on Friday night. The Nittany Lions hit .413 as a team, with Kennedy Martin leading the way with 16 kills.
Penn State held Ohio State to just .151 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win. Kennedy Martin had 26 kills and 21 digs in arguably her most complete game of the regular season.
Penn State will face Michigan on the road on Friday (6:30pm on BTN) and Indiana at home on Sunday (4:00pm on BTN).
Women’s Soccer (9-6-3)
The women’s soccer team secured a spot in the Big Ten Tournament with a 2-0 shutout win over Ohio State on Sunday. Mackenzie Gress recorded her third shutout of the season, and Kaitlyn MacBean scored in the second half to give the Nittany Lions an insurance goal. Penn State held the Buckeyes to just three shots on goal in the game.
Penn State will face UCLA in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Saturday (7:30pm on Big Ten Plus).
Men’s Soccer (5-7-3)
The men’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Wisconsin in its only game of the week. The Badgers scored twice in the first half to put Penn State in a hole it never climbed out of. The offense finished with just three shots on goal in the contest.
Penn State will face Ohio State on the road tomorrow (7pm on Big Ten Plus) in its penultimate Big Ten regular season game.
Field Hockey (7-9)
The field hockey team beat Lock Haven 8-0 before falling to Princeton 6-1 over the weekend. Ella Jennes recorded a hat trick and Natalie Freeman added two goals in an 8-0 blowout win over Lock Haven. Both sides of the ball struggled in the 6-1 loss to Princeton, with the Tigers scoring four goals in the third period to put the game away. Joji Purdy scored Penn State’s only goal of the game.
Penn State will take on Rutgers at home tomorrow (5pm) in its regular season finale.
