Stephen Thompson is stepping away from cage fighting.
The former kickboxer, who turns 44 in February, is scheduled to throw hands opposite welterweight veteran Charles Radtke as part of the upcoming UFC 334 MMA event on Paramount+, scheduled for Sat., Nov. 14, 2026 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
After that, “Wonderboy” is transitioning to “Wonderdad.”
“It’s my last one,” Thompson told Ozoon. “What better place to have it than Madison Square Garden, New York City? My body feels good, I feel great.
I can keep going. But I have a baby girl. ‘Wonderdad’ now. That definitely changes your mindset a little bit. We’ll see as she’s older where I’m at. You might see me again.”
Let’s hope not.
No disrespect to Thompson (17-9-1), but the former welterweight title challenger has dropped three straight and five of his last six. The division has evolved and “Wonderboy” hasn’t, which is why he spent the second half of his career campaigning for fellow one-dimensional strikers (and shopworn vets).
Thompson fell out of the official UFC rankings in July 2025.
