When Browns running back Quinshon Judkins injured his lower body against the Buffalo Bills in December, Cleveland fans everywhere experienced a little PTSD from Nick Chubb’s situation in 2023. Luckily for the team, the injury itself was much cleaner, and the initial return date for Judkins was set for around April/May of this year.
Though he’s technically on pace as far as returning to activity, he looks much, much further along in terms of movement ability and overall speed than most thought he’d
be right now.
He’s participating in every drill and appears to be just as quick as he was before the injury in bag drills, which is incredibly relieving to see.
The fact that Judkins is the smoothest mover in this clip after having surgery on both his fibula and ankle five months ago is mind-blowing to see. What makes it even better is that it not only shows that he’s physically ready to go, but it also shows us that he’s not hesitant when it comes to the mental aspect of returning from an injury.
Sometimes, the biggest hurdle for a player to overcome after an injury is a lack of confidence, which can make them hesitant on the field. It’s evident that Judkins isn’t dealing with this as he’s putting his full weight on and cutting with both legs.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he looks with pads on this summer, but with how he’s already performing, he may not even have to start off slow in that portion of practice either.
