We’re back and ready to roll.
There’s another team coming to town from the state of Michigan and the Huskers are ready!
The Huskers are going to notch the first Big Ten win of the year in their belt and
move on full steam ahead.
#1 SCORE IN THE RED ZONE
It’s been a problem for years. The Huskers drive down the field, get into the Red Zone and then fail to score. Well not anymore my friends. It stops here. Nebraska is going to score every time they get in the red zone, and not just field goals either.
#2 CONTAIN THE RUN
After the Michigan game, I’m starting to think that maybe the team doesn’t read these. That’s fine really, I mean it’s their choice, but I did tell them to stop big plays and that is what cost them.
Anyway, enough about that. While Michigan State passes a bit more than they run, they also have a mobile quarterback. Which, if you don’t remember is something that Nebraska has had a problem with this season. It is important that the Husker defense is able to contain the quarterback and stop the run.
#3 RUN THE DAMN BALL
On that same note, the Husker offense has to get the running game going more. Nebraska only had 43 yards rushing on 40 carries against the Wolverines. That’s not going to win games. The running backs need to make people miss and the line needs to create some big holes. This will then give Dylan Raiola a little more time when he is throwing and will make it harder for Michigan State to defend.
#4 TAKEAWAYS
Fine, I’ll say it. The Nebraska defense is going to score this week.
I haven’t decided if it’ll be a nice scoop and score or a pick six, but it’s happening. Look for the Blackshirts to add a couple more takeaways to the stats this week.
#5 PUNT RETURNS
Jacory Barney Jr. is just waiting to break off with one of these punt returns. It’s happening on Saturday. The Spartans are 15th in the conference on punt return defense and he’s going to find a way to capitalize on that.
Bonus-
I’m planning on making biscuits and you know, Huskers! Biscuits!
It just makes sense.
