According to ESPN’s sources, an all-British heavyweight clash is currently in the works as former titleholder Daniel Dubois is said to be in talks for meeting with Fabio Wardley. While a deal has yet to be struck between the two, talks are said to be progressing nicely with both sides looking to nail it down.
Wardley (20-0-1, 19KOs) currently holds the WBO title after he was promoted into position after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt. He most recently stopped Joseph Parker in 11 rounds back in November.
Meanwhile, Dubois Dubois (22-3, 21KOs) hasn’t fought since he was stopped by Usyk in five rounds last summer. He’s looking to rebuild and gain another world title distinction if he can manage it.
Should the sides be able to hammer out a finalized agreement it should make for a fight that’s unlikely to see the final bell as both are aggressive fighters with defensive limitations. We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
