Bret Hart will likely continue to work shots at Bill Goldberg in wherever he can, but the man Hart blames for ending his career has moved on. In fact, Goldberg has his own axe to grind these days.
The WWE Hall of Famer hasn’t been happy with WWE since he retired following a loss to Gunther on a Saturday Night’s Main Event show from Atlanta last July. Goldberg’s retirement speech in his adopted hometown of Atlanta was cut off on the main broadcast. The company uploaded the full version to YouTube,
but the way the whole thing was handled left Bill fuming. And while he’s been sure to put over Gunther, he not held back about WWE management.
Eight months later, and it didn’t take much to get Goldberg going on the topic of his retirement. Social media personality Pop the Chain prompted Bill at an autograph signing yesterday (March 29), and got a video he knew would “go mainstream, bro”.
Pop the Chain: You know what really pissed me off? Was when WWE cut off your mic at your final performance.
Goldberg: Yeah, well, what do you think it did for me? It made me really happy… It just shows what disrespect they have for me.
Pop the Chain: What jackass — was it Hunter [Paul “Triple H” Levesque] who did that?
Goldberg: Probably.
Pop the Chain: Yeah, he’s a jackass, man.
Goldberg: 100 percent.
Bill seemed ready to say some more on the subject, while Pop was clearly in a hurry to get their talk online. What do you think of this situation? Is Goldberg right? Is WWE still “ribbing” him for being Team WCW in the 1990s, or if Triple H holding a grudge from their days together on the roster in the aughts?
