What is the story about?
One of the first games at Kauffman Stadium I attended was when the Arizona Diamondbacks were in town. At the time, we had just moved to Kansas City from the Cleveland area, and as someone who perused the Sunday morning league leaders in the newspaper and watched SportsCenter, one of my favorite players was Randy Johnson. The Big Unit was starting that particular game, and he wrecked the feckless Royals, but it was fun to me.
Tonight, there is no Randy Johnson. Birds everywhere rejoice. But there is one
Corbin Burnes and, when healthy, he’s really good. It’ll be a difficult showdown against a Diamondbacks team clinging to one of the Wild Card spots and fighting for their playoff lives.
