The Texas Rangers scored two runs while the Kansas City Royals scored five runs.
It’s just like this every night, huh? The Rangers scored a run early to go up 1-0. Tonight’s starting pitcher Merrill Kelly retired 13 in a row at one point. In a 1-1 game, the Rangers scored again in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. They didn’t score again. They lost 5-2.
Did we all die when the Rangers won the World Series? Is this purgatory? Were the Rangers supposed to lose a couple in Tampa Bay that autumn but the baseball
gods were asleep at the wheel? If the Rangers develop a starting pitcher, will our souls doff their caps and walk into the light? Do we need a Father Lankester Merrin Night at The Shed?
Whatever. I’m not sorry. I don’t repent. I’m not taking the flag down. You can pry the shitty championship Blu-ray from my cold dead hands.
Player of the Game: Corey Seager and Joc Pederson each hit a solo home run for both of Texas’ two runs so they can fight over the title of the best player on the team in one of the most uninteresting games that I’m certain I’ll forget immediately.
Up Next: The Rangers will take on the Royals again tomorrow with a pitcher yet to be named for Texas against rookie left-hander Noah Cameron for Kansas City.
The Wednesday evening first pitch from Purgatory Kauffman Stadium is scheduled for 6:40 pm CT and will be aired on Pazuzu Rangers Sports Network.
