Jalen Brunson will be a question mark when the Knicks (44*-25) face the Indiana Pacers (15-53) on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. Brunson, who is dealing with a right ankle sprain and cervical strain (neck), is listed as questionable on the injury report (per Stefan Bondy). In addition, Miles McBride remains out while recovering from hernia surgery. ESPN.com still lists his estimated return as April 1.
Josh Hart has dealt with left knee soreness recently. It flared up during the five-game road trip and caused him to miss tilts in Utah and Indiana. He was probable before the Knicks’ game versus the Warriors on Sunday, in which he played almost 31 minutes and grabbed 12 rebounds. There’s not indication as of right now that he won’t suit up for Tuesday’s rematch with Indiana.
Before the game against the Lakers on March 8, Landry Shamet was listed as questionable with a neck sprain. Over the last five games, Shamet has shot 36% from the field and 29% from deep, yet in the five games prior to the reported neck sprain, he had shot 51% and 39%. The Magic 8-Ball thinks the neck issue is to blame for his recent cold spell, but feel free to ask again later.
The Knicks are still jockeying for position in the top tier of the Eastern Conference. New York sits at third in the East, with the same number of wins as the second-place Boston Celtics. To find Indiana, look under the rug. The last-place Hoosiers are content to sit this season out, collect a nice draft pick in the offseason, and welcome back Tyrese Haliburton for the next campaign.
The Indiana Pacers’ injury report for Tuesday’s game lists several players as day-to-day and questionable, including Ben Sheppard (ankle), Quenton Jackson (calf), T.J. McConnell (right hamstring soreness), Andrew Nembhard (calf), Ivica Zubac (ankle), Aaron Nesmith (ankle), and Obi Toppin (foot). Pascal Siakam remains out/doubtful with a right knee sprain.
You might be asking, “Didn’t we just play these jerks?” Yes, indeed. The Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers 101-92 on March 13, 2026, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana, with Brunson leading the way by scoring 29 points, OG Anunoby adding 25 points, and Mitchell Robinson collecting a career-high 22 rebounds. The Knicks nearly gave the game away, but pulled away in the fourth quarter when the Pacers remembered they were trying to lose and scored just 18 points. The win gave New York a 2-1 lead in the season series.
Tip-off will be at 7:30 PM ET. Watch the game on MSG Network and NBA League Pass. Preview to come tomorrow, if anything more needs to be said about this one.
Go Knicks.
* Should be one more, but NBA Cup finals are scared of the light.
