Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants resume their three-game series against the Chicago Cubs later today. In the meantime, we are reaching the end of August later this week, which means that it’s almost time for September call-ups! That’s right, as of this coming Monday, rosters expand from 26 to 28 players.
With the Giants’ 2025 hopes and dreams shattering around us as we speak (well, I’m writing this from the past because I am out of town, but I feel like the point probably stands),
we may see more than just a couple of new faces, as veterans start to get shut down for the year.
So it’s time to think about who we would like to see get called up when the rosters expand.
Now, for full transparency, I am the kind of person who cannot get invested in minor leaguers, because I get really sad when things don’t work out for them. (I also have two jobs, aging parents, and disabilities; so my free time is almost non-existent.)
Which means that I am by no means an expert at the Giants’ minor league system. I know who the top prospects are, of course, but I cannot pretend to have any real insight into who to expect will actually get the call this year. Any debuts will be a happy surprise for me.
That said, I know that a lot of you follow these players a lot more closely than I am able to, so I wanted to get your input.
Who do you want to see when rosters expand?
