Cruz Montana made the leap from NXT to the WWE main roster on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in perhaps the biggest spot he could hope for — as the newest member of The 946 in direct opposition of The Bloodline. He’ll be in one of the biggest matches of the year at a premiere premium live event with War Games at Survivor Series.
Hell of a way to get his run started under the bright lights.
Shawn Michaels, the boss of NXT, was quick to take to social media to celebrate the call up while making
note of how successful the past year has been in that regard:
I, personally, am not the biggest fan of NXT anymore. The show is disjointed, they tend to throw far too much at you, and, well, it’s silly in a way I don’t want from my pro wrestling. But you can’t argue with the numbers here, and many of those 19 have become big names on the main roster in relatively short order.
Oba Femi is on track to be one of the next main event stars who will headline WrestleMania. Trick Williams is United States champion and the sky is the limit with his talent. Ethan Page just won the Intercontinental championship on this very show. That’s not even mentioning the likes of Fatal Influence, Je’Von Evans, OTM, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and even more.
Well done to good ol’ HBK, huh?
