The Cleveland Browns have been busy this offseason as the team picks through the rubble of just eight wins in the past two seasons.
A new coaching staff, led by head coach Todd Monken, is working to get rid of the ugly brand of football that has been seen far too often from the guys in the orange helmets. (Although he used much more descriptive language to describe what everyone has witnessed.)
A new crop of players has arrived, including three new starters on the offensive line in Zion Johnson, Elgton
Jenkins, and Tytus Howard.
Next week brings the 2026 NFL Draft, where general manager Andrew Berry will presumably fill the void at left tackle and add much-needed talent to the wide receiver position.
All that movement brings a small equipment-related matter, as all the new guys need to choose or be assigned a uniform number.
That has been taken care of as the team released a list of the uniform numbers for the new players, including a few switches by returning players:
- No. 2: Quarterback Shedeur Sanders
- No. 5: Linebacker Quincy Williams
- No 11: Cornerback Tre Avery
- No. 15: Wide receiver Tylan Wallace
- No. 24: Safety Daniel Thomas
- No. 27: Cornerback Myles Bryant
- No. 30: Punter Nik Constantinou
- No. 53: Guard Kendrick Green
- No. 71: Guard/Tackle Tytus Howard
- No. 74: Guard Elgton Jenkins
- No. 77: Guard Zion Johnson
- No. 78: Guard Teven Jenkins
- No. 85: Wide receiver Isaiah Wooden
- No. 89: Tight end Jack Stoll
- No. 93: Defensive tackle Kalia Davis
- No. 99: Defensive end Julian Okwara
Of course, a few names on this list may not be on the roster come the fall, and the draft picks will need their own set of numbers in due course, so you may want to jot a few of these down in pencil just to be safe.
And depending on how the draft goes, a few people may be repurposing their No. 12 jerseys for a new quarterback.
