Samoa Joe is not happy with the direction of The Opps, and Hook may be to blame.
In Joe’s absence, Hook was assigned the leadership role. In Joe’s absence, the aura of The Opps has taken a hit. Are those two facts related? Joe is considering that idea, and he will act accordingly. The answer may be to kick Hook out of The Opps.
In a backstage promo on Collision (Oct. 31, 2026), Joe assessed the current status of The Opps. Joe discussed the importance of perception. The Opps were perceived as an entity
to be approached with caution, if approached at all. These days, it seems that the opposition barks louder in their presence. Joe suggested that this could be a failure in his leadership or a failure in who they let lead. Joe side-eyed Hook with that last statement. Joe is back now, and the perception of The Opps will change. Or maybe Joe changes the nature of the beast. Hook picked up on that hint earlier, then Joe made it clear by staring directly at Hook.
Joe is a master of strategy, so things may not appear as they seem. It sure looks like Joe teased kicking Hook out of The Opps. However, perhaps Joe doubles down to make Hook into a killer once again. This could also be a classic misdirection from Joe to place the blame on Shibata.
What’s your read on this promo from Joe? How would you proceed as leader of The Opps? Should they make changes in membership by dumping Hook? If so, which wrestlers would you like to see join The Opps? What happens to Hook moving forward?
