Per the Golden State Warriors’ official PR page on X/Twitter, Jimmy Butler III — who suffered a torn right anterior cruciate ligament back on January 19 against the Miami Heat — underwent successful ACL
repair surgery today.
Butler is expected to make a full recovery from his injury — assuming a year’s worth of uninterrupted rehabilitation — and an update on his progress will be made “early next season,” per the official announcement.
Butler was a key two-way cog as the second banana to Steph Curry this season. His untimely exit is a huge blow to the Warriors’ hopes to contend during the playoffs, let alone for a chance at an unlikely NBA title, which would be the fifth for Curry and Draymond Green and the first for Butler.
