Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are back at it again.
Earlier this year, Jones and Cormier took part in the Russian show, ALF, coaching against each other in the MMA reality show, and thus far, it’s going how you would expect. With every new episode that releases, new clips emerge of Jones and Cormier continuing their storied rivalry. And that trend continued in the latest episode, released on Friday.
As the competition heats up between Jones’ and Cormier’s teams, so, too, does the animosity between the two
coaches, who begin to bicker, leading Jones to call out Cormier for a one-minute fight, right then and there.
“Jon Jones still child,” Cormier says to one of his fighters.
“DC cries like child,” Jones responds. “… Everyone in this room knows who the man is.”
“It’s up for debate,” Cormier replied.
“This debate was ended years ago,” Jones said.
“It wasn’t ended! It should have been ended,” Cormier countered.
“I’ll give Daniel one minute if he wants one. One minute!” Jones said, standing up and beckoning Cormier to fight him.
“The debate should’ve been ended, with a needle in the ass,” Cormier said, remaining seated. “… You don’t have enough money to pay me to fight you.”
“I said one minute, now he’s quiet,” Jones taunted.
“I’m not going to fight you one minute,” Cormier shot back. “I don’t need to fight you one minute. Again, you getting up and doing that, it’s child’s behavior. I’m a grown man. You literally proved my point. You’re a child. The baby likes to stand up and say ‘Look at me!’ The man sits back and observes.”
“One minute! Jones 3, DC 0,” Jones pressed on.
“Why would we fight like children out in the street?” Cormier asked. “I would never do that. I would never fight in the street.”
“It wouldn’t be a fight,” Jones said.
“Yeah, it would. Listen, he was so concerned to fight that he stuck needles up his ass every time we fought,” Cormier fired back. “Every time we fought, he stuck needles in his ass; he was so concerned about the fight.”
Jones then went on to say that he wants to beat Cormier in this competition “fair and square,” while lamenting the fact that Cormier brought his team with him to coach, while Jones brought only his business partner to the show, which Cormier used as an opportunity to outline what he sees as the difference between the two of them.
“You won’t win. Jon, I’m better than you at this coaching,” Cormier said.
“Hey, it’s me, in Thailand, by myself, with my business partner, versus Daniel and his whole team,” Jones replied.
“Daniel brought his team because I’m training fighters,” Cormier said. “There’s no other way these guys could actually get this type of training.”
“I’m a one-man winning machine,” Jones continued.
“Listen, I just take the ladder — like, when you make it to the top? The ladder, you drop it down, and pull people up,” Cormier said. “So, what I do is, I take my ability to provide this unique opportunity for these guys to train, and I brought them here. Every day they train. I will leave the world a better place when I’m done.”
The back-and-forth between the two subsided after that, without any major fireworks taking place. But afterward, Jones was interviewed for an aside, where he took yet another chance to rip Cormier.
“For a moment, things got a little bit heated between Daniel and I, and I said, ‘Well, let’s fight right now. One minute.’ And he said, ‘Oh, you’re a boy, I’m a man,’” Jones recounted.
“Daniel and I have been talking trash since we walked into the house. I think it’s just going to be the way that it is for the rest of our lives. He considers himself to be my rival, but really, he’s just a hater, and somebody I’m going to have to deal with.”
