Barcelona’s search for a new striker has reportedly taken them back to Atletico Madrid and a certain Alexander Sorloth.
Reporter Matteo Moretto says that Barcelona have made a “formal inquiry” about Sorloth as they seek a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Barca have apparently turned to Sorloth as he has a similar profile to Lewandowski and could “adapt immediately” to Hansi Flick’s side, according to Radio Marca.
Julian Alvarez has previously appeared to be Barca’s top attacking target, but Moretto
thinks that Sorloth is also on the club’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sorloth has 10 goals in La Liga this season and six in the Champions League. He also has a rather nasty habit of scoring against Barcelona and netted in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
