Game week is finally here! The Tennessee Titans head on the road to take on the Denver Broncos in Cam Ward’s first real test. The NFL didn’t do him any favors, facing off against a really tough defense on the road. The Titans start the week as a 7.5-point road underdog over at FanDuel Sportsbook. Honestly, I am a little bit surprised that the number isn’t bigger.
Last year, the Broncos’ defense was 6th in the NFL in yards allowed at 317.1 yards per game and third in points allowed at 18.3 points per game.
They also led the league in sacks with 63. That was nine more than the second place team. Go get them, kid!
The Denver offense was also surprisingly good last year. Bo Nix was a whole lot better than I expected him to be. Maybe that is because I only watched him play at Auburn and ignored his Oregon numbers. Either way, he was really good last year in Sean Payton’s offense. It stands to reason that he will be even better in year two. Nix did struggle a little bit when pressured, but the Titans are going to have a tough time pressuring quarterbacks this season.
I’d love to tell you the Titans are going to pull off the upset here, or even that they can cover the 7.5, but I don’t feel good about either.
