The Seattle Seahawks brought on former All-Pro Trevon Diggs to compete in their cornerback room. While Diggs did not play against the Tennessee Titans, we may see him in Friday’s preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Once upon a time, Diggs was good enough to warrant a five-year, $97 million contract extension from the Dallas Cowboys. At this stage of Diggs’ career, he’s looking to make a 53-man roster again. As such, his Seahawks contract is as straightforward and cheap as you could possibly
get for someone of his caliber and experience.

This is the veteran’s minimum salary for someone who has as many credited seasons as Diggs. While he has seven accrued seasons, he has six credited seasons due to playing just two regular season games in 2023 before his season-ending ACL tear. That’s a difference of $85,000 in minimum salary.
There is no signing bonus for Diggs and it sounds like no game-based incentives based on prior reporting.
The Seahawks could cut or trade Diggs by the end of this week and assume zero dead money. This is as low-risk a signing as you can get, and it also means Diggs is not remotely guaranteed a roster spot.
If/when Terrion Arnold signs with the Seahawks, that might be a more interesting contract to look at.
